Mary Mcneill Foshee

Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Foshee, age 93, passed away on August 4, 2020. Libby, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Orlando, FL, in 1927 to Edward Herndon McNeill, Jr. and Mary Angeline Lee. Libby attended Delaney Elementary School, Cherokee Junior High and Orlando High School. She also received her Associate of Arts Degree from Orlando Junior College in 1947. She married Major (US Army Ret.) Beverly “Bev” Clark Foshee, who also attended Orange County Schools. Through Bev’s military career, Libby and her family moved often and were fortunate to have lived in Japan and Germany where they travelled through Europe during the sixties. Libby enjoyed being a military wife, homemaker and Girl Scout Leader. After the family retired to their native home of Orlando, Libby became an active member of the Retired Officers Wives Club, Ladies of the Ribbon, Military  Ladies and Fair Ladies Organizations. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church downtown Orlando.  She was also a lifelong Democrat who, along with her husband, tirelessly campaigned for many years for the candidates she supported.  She will be missed by her family and friends. Libby is predeceased by her husband Bev, her parents, and her two sisters, Mildred McNeill Jackson and Sandra McNeill Williams. Survivors include two daughters, Renee Harl (James), Bowling Green, KY, Penny Velazquez (Mariano), Orlando, one son, Neill Foshee (Patricia), Orlando; four grandchildren, Elissa Bullard, Lexington, SC, Jacob Foshee, Ft. Myers, FL, Victoria Masuko (Kaz), Orlando, and Jennifer Arce (Danny), Orlando. She is also survived by several nieces, grand nieces and nephews, and six step-great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spay-N-Save of Longwood or the First United Methodist Church, downtown Orlando.
