Joan Beverly Wood

Joan “Joanie” Wood was born to John and Velma Wood on February 28, 1935, in Troy, Ohio. After graduating from high school in Newfane, New York, she started a career with the telephone company that would span decades and end in sunny Orlando, Florida. She was an astute businesswoman who enjoyed traveling, being at the beach, and cooking in her kitchen (there was always a full cookie jar!) Joan was a true lover of life, living with zest and passion. She made every day a GREAT day! This positive attitude became her mantra that richly inspired her two children, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and everyone that knew her. Joan was strong, independent, and an amazing confidant. She leaves us now, but we are inspired to live life to its fullest as she did, holding her memory fondly in our hearts.
