Orlando

Robert Douglas Beaty was born July 8th, 1953 to Elizabeth Ladd and Ronald Beaty. Doug grew up in Albany, Georgia where he spent the majority of his youth swimming at Radium springs and cruisin Slappy Blvd. His adventurous spirit, and unmatched sense of humor made him a joy to be around. He lived and loved life to its fullest. He treated each day and everyone he loved, like a precious gift. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

In 1988, he met and married the love of his life, Susan Miller. In the years to come Doug would be the proud father to his step-son John Sherrer III, daughter Heather Elizabeth, and son Robert Beaty Jr. He was the most wonderful protector and provider for his family. He worked tirelessly as a plumbing superintendent for 45 years. In 1998, his career in construction would lead to the Beaty family relocating to Orlando, Fl. He played just as hard as he worked, spending nights and weekends creating everlasting memories with his family at amusement parks and sporting events. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing his guitar, and going on scuba excursions. There was nothing In this world he could not fix and he took every opportunity to teach his kids all of his tricks. He gave them years of laughter, love, and a faith that will see them through anything. He is survived and adored by; his sister Margaret Shattles, devoted wife of 32 years, Susan Beaty, step-son John Sherrer III - daughter-in-law Dana Sherrer and his precious grandchildren Emma and Walt, his daughter Heather Elizabeth and his cherished grand babies Layla, Luke, and Lily, and his name sake Robert Beaty Jr and his beloved golden retriever Hero. His contagious laugh and smile will be missed for the rest of their lives but the values and unconditional love he left in their hearts will live on.
